Preventa
WHAT THE RESEARCH SAYS
Four ingredients studied for migraine
Preventa combines riboflavin (vitamin B2), feverfew, PA-free butterbur root, and magnesium citrate, four ingredients that have been studied for migraine. In a randomized trial published in Neurology, 59% of people who took 400 mg of riboflavin a day cut their headache days in half or more, compared with 15% on placebo. Each daily serving of Preventa has that same 400 mg. Every study we cite is linked below so you can read it yourself.
FAQ
Is the butterbur in Preventa PA-free?
Yes. Some butterbur contains PAs (pyrrolizidine alkaloids), natural compounds that can harm the liver. Preventa uses only PA-free butterbur root, and we confirm it with a certificate of analysis and third-party lab testing.
Who should check with a doctor before taking Preventa?
Talk with your doctor first if you are pregnant, nursing, or trying to get pregnant, have liver disease, take prescription medicines (especially blood thinners), are allergic to ragweed or daisies, or have surgery coming up.
Can I take Preventa with my migraine medicine?
Many people take Preventa along with their migraine medicine. Feverfew may interact with blood thinners, so check with your doctor or pharmacist before you start, especially if you take any prescription medicines. Bring the bottle so they can see the full ingredient list.
Does Preventa have side effects?
The most common one is bright yellow urine. That’s the riboflavin (vitamin B2), and it’s harmless. A few people notice mild stomach upset, and taking Preventa with breakfast and dinner helps. If something doesn’t feel right, stop taking it and talk with your doctor.
Is 400 mg of riboflavin a day safe?
400 mg is the same daily amount used in the riboflavin study published in Neurology, and side effects in that study were rare and mild. Riboflavin dissolves in water, so your body passes what it doesn’t use, which is why your urine turns bright yellow.
Can I take Preventa if I’m allergic to ragweed?
Talk with your doctor first. Feverfew and butterbur come from the same plant family as ragweed, daisies, marigolds, and chrysanthemums, so people with those allergies may react to them.
Can children take Preventa?
Preventa is made for adults. Some butterbur studies have included children and teens, but talk with your child’s pediatrician before giving them any supplement.
Should I stop taking Preventa before surgery?
Yes. Feverfew may slow blood clotting, so stop taking Preventa at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery, and let your surgeon know you’ve been taking it.
Can I open the capsules and mix them into food?
Yes. If swallowing capsules is hard for you, open them and stir the powder into a spoonful of applesauce or yogurt, then eat it right away. The herbs taste bitter, so a soft food with plenty of flavor works best.

Guidelines
In 2015, the AAN withdrew its butterbur recommendation because of liver concerns with butterbur that wasn’t PA-free. That’s why Preventa uses only PA-free butterbur, confirmed by a certificate of analysis and third-party lab testing.
FL-41 Migraine Glasses
WHAT THE RESEARCH SAYS
A rose tint made for light sensitivity
FL-41 is a rose-colored lens tint that filters the light most likely to bother sensitive eyes. In a 2023 study in the American Journal of Ophthalmology, FL-41 lenses reduced activity in the brain pathways linked to light sensitivity in people with chronic eye pain. We tested our Eclipse Aura lenses with a spectrometer. They filter about 80% of blue-green light near 490 nm, more than 90% of amber light near 590 nm, and nearly all UV light.
FAQ
What are FL-41 Migraine Glasses?
FL-41 is a rose-colored lens tint first studied for people with migraine and light sensitivity. It filters the parts of the light spectrum most likely to bother sensitive eyes, so bright and fluorescent light feels easier to handle.
Who might benefit from FL-41 glasses?
People whose migraines are set off or made worse by light: bright sun, fluorescent office lights, screens, or glare. They’re also popular with people who feel light sensitivity between attacks.
Do Eclipse Aura glasses block blue light?
They do more than a blue-light lens. In our spectrometer test, Eclipse Aura lenses filtered about 80% of blue-green light near 490 nm, more than 90% of amber light near 590 nm, and nearly all UV light. Blue-light glasses mainly target screen light, while FL-41 targets the wavelengths linked to light sensitivity.
Can I wear FL-41 glasses all day?
Yes. The tint is light enough for indoor use, and the photochromic lenses darken outdoors. Many people wear them through the workday, during screen time, and anywhere with bright overhead lights.
Can children wear FL-41 glasses?
Yes. FL-41 is a lens tint, so kids can wear it like any other pair of glasses. Check the frame measurements to make sure they fit, and talk with your child’s eye doctor if your child has other vision needs.
Are there any side effects?
Colors will look warmer at first, and most people adjust within a few minutes. Because tinted lenses let in less light, we don’t recommend wearing them while driving at night.
How do the photochromic lenses work?
UV light from the sun makes the lenses darken. In direct sunlight they usually darken within 1 to 2 minutes, and they slowly clear again once you’re indoors. Most car windshields block UV, so the lenses stay in their rose indoor tint while you drive.
Do the lenses protect my eyes from UV?
Yes. Eclipse Aura lenses block 100% of UVA and UVB light.
What are Eclipse Aura lenses made of?
Eclipse Aura lenses are made from TAC (cellulose triacetate), a lightweight lens material known for clear vision. They also have an anti-glare coating and a scratch-resistant finish.
Can I add my prescription to Eclipse Aura lenses?
Not right now. Prescription lenses aren’t available. Some customers wear Eclipse Aura over their regular glasses, depending on the size of their frames. Eclipse Aura frames are 139 mm wide, so compare that with your own glasses before ordering.
Are Eclipse Aura lenses polarized?
No, and that’s on purpose. Polarized lenses can make phone, laptop, and car screens hard to read, so we left polarization out to keep screens easy to see.
How should I care for my glasses?
Clean the lenses with a microfiber cloth and lens cleaner or mild soapy water, and store them in their case. Don’t leave them on a hot dashboard, because heat can wear out photochromic lenses faster.

Green Light Therapy
WHAT THE RESEARCH SAYS
Why 520 nm green light?
In a 2016 Harvard study, people with migraine found narrow-band green light far less irritating than white, blue, amber, or red light. Later studies tested green light as a daily routine and during attacks. In a 2023 study in Frontiers in Neurology, 181 people used narrow-band green light during 3,232 migraine attacks, and their headache improved in 55% of those attacks. Our Aloe lights use 520 nm green LEDs that are flicker-free, so you get the narrow-band green light these studies tested.
FAQ
What is green light therapy and how does it work for migraines?
Green light therapy means using a narrow band of green light, around 520 nm, as the main light in your room. Research suggests this type of green light bothers sensitive eyes far less than other colors, and it may affect how the brain processes pain. It gives you enough light to read or rest without the glare of regular lighting.
Why is green light easier on sensitive eyes?
In the 2016 Harvard study, green light made the light sensitivity of people with migraine worse far less than white, blue, amber, or red light did. Researchers think this is because the signals green light sends from the eyes to the brain are smaller than the signals other colors send.
What does the research say about green light for migraine?
The early results are promising. In a 2023 study, 181 people used narrow-band green light during 3,232 migraine attacks, and their headache improved in 55% of those attacks. A University of Arizona study found that people who used green light daily for 10 weeks reported fewer headache days. Larger studies are still underway.
Are there any side effects associated with green light therapy for migraines?
The studies we cite did not report serious side effects. If the light ever feels uncomfortable, turn the brightness down, aim it away from your eyes, or take a break.
Can green light therapy be used alongside other migraine treatments?
Yes. Green light is drug-free, so it fits alongside your current migraine routine. Keep following your doctor’s plan, and use green light as an extra comfort tool.
What specific wavelength (nm) of green light is used for migraine therapy?
Our Aloe lights use 520 nm, which is in the narrow green band studied in migraine research. Ordinary green bulbs often give off a wide mix of colors, so check that a light lists its exact wavelength.
How do I use green light therapy at home?
Turn off other lights, aim your green light at a book, desk, or wall rather than your eyes, and start on the lowest brightness. Use it for at least 30 minutes while you read, rest, or unwind.
How long does it take for green light therapy to help?
It depends on how you use it. Many people say the room feels more comfortable right away. For daily use, the University of Arizona study ran 10 weeks, so give it a few weeks of steady use and track how you feel.
Can I use green light every day and during a migraine?
Yes. Many people use it every evening as part of their routine, and again during light-sensitive moments in an attack. Start low and stop if your discomfort increases.
Is green light therapy safe for children and during pregnancy?
Green light therapy is gentle and drug-free. The adult studies we cite did not report serious side effects. It hasn’t been studied in children or during pregnancy, though, so check with your doctor or your child’s pediatrician before starting. If you get the go-ahead, start on the lowest brightness, keep the light out of your direct line of sight, and stop if it causes discomfort.
